More butterflies

I love the Flight of the Butterfly stamp set and when I saw this card by the very talented Kirsty Brown (I wish I had even half of her creativity), I knew I had to CASE it.

Here’s my attempt and the girls at my S-A-S on Saturday night did 3 of these each too!

Lots of cutting out! But well worth it – this card is one of my favourites.  For this card I’ve used a base of Riding Hood Red and then matts of Kiwi Kiss, Baja Breeze and Whisper White. The background stamp is Baroque Motifs stamped in Kiwi Kiss and the sentiment is from Basic Phrases.  Butterflies are stamped in Baja Breeze and Riding Hood Red – the red ones I stamped twice and mounted the top ones so their wings pop up off the page – this also meant I didn’t have to try and cut out the teeny tiny body and antenae of the little butterfly! Finished off with some Kiwi Kiss ribbon, a Rhinestone brad (love those!) and the lace border punch on some Riding Hood Red card.

Thanks for looking! Don’t forget to let me know if you want to come along to one of my classes this month.

More class dates and more cards

I’m running 2 Stamp-A-Stack classes this month.

The first is on 15th August and will have a distinctly male theme – Don’t let that put you off – in fact it should be an incentive.  So many people (me included) often find it HARD to make cards for the males in our lives so if you come along on the 15th we’ll be making 9 cards, 3 different designs. One Father’s Day card, One Male Birthday and one Boy Birthday.

The second class will be on the 22nd August and this one will be a Christmas Card class.  Again, 9 cards, 3 different designs.

Both classes are $25 for 9 cards including envelopes and will run from 7pm to 10pm at my home. Places are limited, so please contact me if you would like to reserve a spot at either (or both!) class.

I had 3 lovely girls over on Saturday night for a Stamp-A-Stack.

Here are 2 of the cards we made – the other I need to re-photograph in the daylight. I was terribly mean and made them do lots of cutting out (more on the other card yet to come) – so we were in for a late night (sorry guys!) but I think we all had a lot of fun.  Normally I don’t stamp during my classes, but these were friends of mine, so I also stamped a long with them – it was fun!

This one is a CASE of this card by Marelle Taylor.  I added some sponging and some crystal effects (although it doesn’t show too well in this photo).  This card uses the very versatile Party Hearty set on a base of Baja Breeze with Riding Hood Red and Kiwi Kiss card and inks.  The striped paper is from the Chocolate Chip Designer Series papers. I’ve popped the present and the middle of the ‘b’ up on a dimensional and used crystal effects on these as well as the red hat over the ‘b’.

This card was inspired by this one – also another of Marelle’s!  But a few extra bits and pieces added to it. This card uses the same Party Hearty set on a base of Whisper White with Pink Pirouette and Basic Gray.  The cupcakes are stamped in Pink Pirouette, Baja Breeze and Pixie Pink.  I stamped them twice and cut out the tops on the 2nd set, smothered them in Dazzling Diamonds and popped them up on a dimensional. So cute! I’ve used the Scallop edge punch on the Basic Gray and have run the Pink Pirouette through my cuttlebug with the swirls embossing folder.  The card is finished off with some Pink Pirouette ribbon.

I will be back tomorrow with a picture of our third card, it was a beauty!

Stamp-A-Stack cards

On Saturday night I had 5 lovely ladies come to my place for a Stamp-A-Stack.  We made 9 cards, 3 each of the following:

IMG_8993 This one using Not Quite Navy, Brocade Blue & Whisper White cardstock with silver cord (retired), NQN ribbon and ink, large oval punch, sponge daubers and sponges and lots of Dazzling Diamonds (can you ever have too much of that stuff? I think not!!)

The stamp set we used here was Season of Joy and we used a mask to create the bauble shape – a good old favourite!

Another Christmas card.

This time using Riding Hood Red, Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss and Whisper White cardstock with a touch of DSP from the new mini catalogue!

Riding Hood Red and Baja Breeze inks, silver brads, scallop circle, 1 3/8 circle and 1 1/4 circle punches.  Again, a fair amount of Dazzling Diamonds and also the SU matt pack for the paper piercing (LOVE that tool!)

Again, this card uses the Season of Joy stamp set.

And finally this birthday card which uses the Crazy for Cupcakes set, Pretty in Pink, Rose Red and Old olive card with some Rasberry Tea DSP, Stayz on black ink and Old Olive, Pretty  in Pink & Rose Red inks with blender pens for the colouring in.

Of course there is some Dazzling Diamonds … again! As well as some Old Olive ribbon to finish it off.

I have another S-A-S this saturday night with some friends and another coming up in August – keep an eye out here for details on the August one, if you’re interested in attending.
